W352D is manufactured using high reliability, solid state components.
The cooling system of the W352D module is a pin.fins cold plate
which carries out the indirect thermic exchange between the electronic
devices and a water-antifreeze agent mixture. This system is more
efficient than the air cooled ones concerning with the dissipation
of high thermic powers generated by several heat sources uniformly
distributed. The gain and the phase of the module can be adjusted
by simply removing the front panel, without need of module extraction.
W352D amplifier final stages work in AB class to reach a good compromise
between introduced distortion and dissipated power with low current
consumption. The W352D module is selfprotected from overdrive of
the RF input power, from incidental reflected power, from overvoltage
of the amplifier power supply voltages and from driver and final
stage abnormal absorption, thanks to the module control logic ass.y,
which consists of a Master CPU and three Detector CPU. The Master
CPU, in turn, transfers information to the equipment supervisory
system control logic via RS485 and consequently the module status
and functioning can be monitored on the control logic monitor. In
addiction the same information is available on the RS232 port which
is attainable by removing the front panel...

VHF Power Amplifier Module
(Liquid Cooled)
Itelco proudly presents
its liquid cooled
UHF full LD-MOS power amplifier module, used in
Solid State Transmitters. The ruggedly designed power amplifier modules (PAs)
are broadband, covering the entire 470-860 MHz UHF range. The PAs
are equipped with RF devices suitable for broadcasting signal amplification
both in analog (common and separate) and digital transmission (DVB
and DTV). Itelco power amplifier modules achieve unsurpassed peakpower
margins and efficiency due to the very advanced circuit design (e.g.
no need for circulators), state-of-the-art solid state technology,
and efficient liquid cooling. Temperature compensation and power
gain of the modules are microprocessor controlled. Each module incorporates
its dedicated high efficiency switchmode DC/DC converter. There
are no dangerous high voltages (43 Volts are nominal) at the modules
input. The modules require no tuning and are self-protected against
VSWR, RF input overdrive, overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage
and undervoltage. The modules are hot-pluggable thanks to the use
of isolated combiners, allowing safe removal and insertion without
interrupting transmitter operation. The incorporated quick connectors
ensure engagement and disengagement from the liquid cooling circuit
without loss of liquid coolant. A phase and amplitude regulation
control is located at the input of each amplifier module to ensure
maximum combining efficiency. The RF power outputs of the various
amplifier modules are combined by means of wideband combiners....(Click
