Itelco Transmitter Selected for Peru's New Ovacion TV

January 27, 1999 - Westminster, Colorado - Itelco today announced that it is supplying a high-power 10-kW tetrode transmitter for Ovac�on Television, a new TV station broadcasting on Channel 57 in Lima, Peru. In addition to its single-tube T614C transmitter, Itelco also provided associated transmission, microwave, and antenna equipment.

The Itelco products were selected for Ovac�on by Underfire Communications of Santa Ana, California, which specified all of the equipment for the new station.

"We examined transmitters from approximately 20 suppliers in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. before choosing the Itelco system," said Julio Jauregui, President and Owner of Underfire Communications. Ovac�on Television broadcasts a mix of sports, children's, and entertainment programming. In addition to the Itelco tranmission system, the new station has been outfitted with 100% Panasonic equipment selected by Underfire.
